Serenity In Transit

Sailing on through the dark, a purpose in mind
Destiny yet to fulfil, trillions of miles to kill.
Awaiting a spark, out here in the dark.
Sleeping while we run, work yet undone.
Goals so grand, they clap when they stand.
Out here alone, the radio links me to home.
Marvels in wire, lofted on fire.
My birth they await, ticking clocks and bated breath.
Years will they dream, of completing the scheme.
Brothers and sisters I've lost, in bright and brief holocaust.
I am unaware, but I own grandeur so fair, do I really get there.
Quietly, grandly, of my fate I partake. With each transmission, history is mine to make.
This is the legacy that allows me such unaware serenity, while I am in transit to my brief time of glory.
However it turns out, they shall hear my celestial story.

Dedicated to the persons from every nation who have taken the time and effort to
enrich our knowledge of our environ ment within the solar system and beyond.
This is to the teams who patiently wait years while their probes transit across the neighborhood
of our local star and then bring us awareness of where we live. Such grand explorers are they!

Hi

It occurred to me that as poets we tend to be somewhat
self-centered at times and thereby miss a lot of good things
that others have to offer.
I, therefore, have undertaken to read and comment on all
the poems posted on the 50 most veiwed and 50 most recent
catagories. I can find some good in the poorest of poetry
and something to critisize in the best of poetry.
The project may take some time but the fact that you are
reading this should indicate that I've read this piece and
enjoyed, at least, some if not all of what you ‘ve written.
I'll leave the judging to the experts. It.s enough for me to
know the you cared enough to share your work with us all.
I would also encourage you all to share your thoughts with
me and all the others that have contributed to this website.
Just remember:
A SONG IS NOT A SONG ‘TIL YOU SING IT
A BELL IS NOT A BELL ‘TIL YOU RING IT
LOVE IS NOT PUT IN YOUR HEART TO STAY
LOVE IS NOT LOVE ‘TIL YOU GIVE IT AWAY

Claud
