A Singular Peace In Simplicity

Sometimes, when the world is a complicated place,
I take my place, and live in the whirlwind.
Yes, I go a twirlin' with a smile upon my face.

Whispering for a singular peace in simplicity.
Wishing, oh wishing.

When what you want is right around the corner.
But the gates just aren't open.
Hold on, someone has the key.

Asking, for help from above, to find a simpler place and time, in my mind.
Smiling, oh smiling.

I can be here, but why not there? Or maybe I should just stare.
You know, I remember, the joys. I used to play with toys.

Remembering back, there was no lack, of peace in simplicity.
Dreaming, oh dreaming.

I listen to music, and hold an unknown yearning.
Maybe it's simpler things, that I should be learning.

In the future, I will try, to find a singular peace in simplicty, in my mind.
Hoping, oh hoping.

And how does your memory serve you today?
Have you found a simpler way?
If you care, when I find mine I'll share, so that you can join me there.

Basking in a singular peace found in simplicty.
Happy, oh happy.

With you for a friend, I feel I'll find it again.

Wasn't it so much easier wih the mind of a child? You liked someone, you said so, no ulterior
motives, just fun. You were straight forward, never shy, never questioning. You knew what you
wanted. Little dreams were easier. I remember.

I think this is pretty clear. It comes from a certain nostalgia, but it's one
I think many of us share in today's world.
