The Ocean
The Ocean
© by Constance
The ocean spread before me forever holds my gaze,
Tumultuously beautiful, throughout the nights and days.
Waves crashing bold around me in their never ending fight
as the ocean reaches inward in the haze of morning light.
So full of life and vigor, death to foolish souls,
Casting tenuous arms about the world as it leaves so much untold.
I feel my heart so captured by the wonders that abound,
I ponder life's dearth meaning as I hear it's awesome sound.
It seems to take me wholly, my mind adrift a sea,
So tiny and insignificant my soul begins to be.
But when I see you near me, the ocean fades away.
Lost in your sweet shadow as Your smile shows me the way.
My life again has meaning as I feel you take my hand,
My purpose here on earth so simple, Love you all I can.
