You Don't Gotta Die
1.You don't gotta die
You don't gotta die
You don't gotta die and kill yourself
Just cause you don't got that much wealth
2.You don't gotta go
You don't gotta go
You don't gotta go you know they may have told you it was so
But the truth they didn't really know
3.You don't gotta leave
You don't gotta leave
You don't gotta leave and make yourself to bleed
Cause once your dead alive you won't be
4.There is hope for you
There is hope for you
There is hope for you above all the strife
Jesus came that you might have thee abundent life
5.There is hope for you
There is hope for you
There is hope for you beyond all your blues
God he loves you so very true
6.Put away the knife
Put away the knife
Put away the knife

This is one of the Lyrics of of my I Want To Be Madonna which I wrote for people who are thinking of suicide.
Before I started my music career I was already writing lyrics but I hated my life and I was thinking of suicide.I was to cowardly to kill myself by a voilent act but thought if I smoked enough pot I might die that way.God who knows our prayers even before we ask also knows are intentions.
This same God would not let me die without making me think about what I was doing.I had a dream about how I wasn't going to live anymore and my friends started to listen to ACDC who at the time were singing about going to sin city and on the highway to hell.
So between this and the fact that I started getting into Bob Dylan and he was claiming to be Born Again I started to look into what the Bible said and after praying for wisdom and quiting pot as well as having a relationship with Jesus my life has gone alot better.
I'm still depressed sometimes but now I have Jesus to be my friend.

Art, I can tell you, I'm very glad that you decided to stick with this world awhile. First off, I consider you to be one of my oldest friends and if no one else would've, I would have missed having you around, even though we don't get to hang around together very often anymore. Besides, we would all have missed your music up there in Madison. It's one of the neat things that is just uniquely Madison. There's no place like it on Earth, and no one else like Art Paul Schlosser. Thank God Dylan found God. |

| Thank God there is still a Madison with an Art Paul Schlosser in it! I remember when Art Paul first made the leap from playing on the sidewalk to playing at Steep & Brew, thanks to a small number of early admirers. Art Paul has never slowed down, never given in to cynicism, and never gotten so slicked up that he forgets where he's from. |
